I’m ready to direct some traffic to my little side project, Instapaper. I’ve been using it for months and couldn’t live without it now.
Here’s the basic premise:
- You come across substantial news or blog articles that you want to read, but don’t have time at the moment.
- You need something to read while sitting on a bus, waiting in a line, or bored in front of a computer.

A lot of people are saying this is stripped down del.icio.us, my opinion is that they’re using del.icio.us poorly if they are using these two in similar ways (admittedly, a lot of people have a “toread” tag on del.icio.us, maybe this could be compared to just being your “toread” category)
Personally, what it does for me is it saves me from having a couple dozen safari windows open that I’ve spawned from NNW until I get to them. Instead, when I have to leave for class in the morning, I just hit “Read Later” on all the windows I have left and close them to revisit them after I’m done working or at lunch. I couldn’t use this to save the article that teaches me how to use ssh-agent every other week or all the articles I saved to revisit when I finally had Leopard.
