Enquirer: The Real Life “Boy Who Cried Wolf?”
Poor National Enquirer. Nobody believed you when, in October 2007, you cried “Edwards Cheating Scandal.” Wikipedia didn’t even heed your call.
The Enquirer has always been known for crying wolf. A lot of people seem to be acting like they should be listened to just because they got it right this time. (And probably only partly right.) Meanwhile, digging into the news will show they’re simultaneously settling a suit for when they ran a similar story and were wrong. They created a front page story for the Boston Herald and droves lots of internet traffic ruining Bilodeau-Allen’s life. (Unlike John Edwards, Ted Kennedy is immune to bad press, so the story wouldn’t have impacted him in any way.)
